We have a rather unique situation in that we are in the alpaca
business but currently without a farm. We live in the Kansas City
metropolitan area and have two children in high school who love
their school and are very active in sports and other activities.
We promised them when we went into the alpaca business in 2007 that
we would not move away from their school and friends until after
they graduate. Our goal is to purchase our farm and relocate all
our animals in the spring of 2012. In the meantime we are building
our alpaca business, our bloodlines and our fiber business.
We currently board all of our alpacas, some in the Kansas City
area where we can work with them and some in Oregon. We will have
the opportunity to introduce West Coast bloodlines to the Midwest
that are not as prevalent here. When we bring our herd of alpacas
to Missouri, our breeding program will include several 2nd and 3rd
generation Studmaster
males and females.
By making a success of our not-so-traditional "farm,"
we are opening up the idea of alpaca ownership for those who don't
necessarily desire the "country life" or who have other
obligations and priorities.
Our farm is as much about the wonderful alpaca products as about
the alpacas themselves. Learn more about and experience our beautiful
hand-painted rovings, hand-painted yarns, hand-spun yarns and other
alpaca products for sale in our farm store.
